CLUNY
A reconstruction of the famous Benedictine abbey at Cluny, Burgundy, based on extensive excavations, as it was about 1157. Cluny was the central monastery with hundreds of dependent houses scattered over many lands and forming a vast hierarchy or monastic feudal system under the Abbot of Cluny. It was a new kind of monastery sytem.
